(User Rating 1/5)

PokerStars is bringing back the Player of the Year (POY) Leaderboard for the UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT), adding an exciting competitive edge to the upcoming events. The Irish Poker Open, which kicks off this week, is the first tour stop where players can start accruing points for the leaderboard.

Leaderboard Points System

The leaderboard will follow a points-based system, where players earn points based on their performance in eligible events. Players who cash in these events will receive points based on both their finishing position and the number of entries they used.

Prizes for the Top Finishers

PokerStars will reward the top three finishers on the leaderboard with the following prizes:

  • 1st Prize: £15,000 UKIPT 2024 package (includes £11,000 in live event credit and £4,000 for expenses)

  • 2nd Prize: £2,200 in 2024 live event credit

  • 3rd Prize: £1,100 in 2024 live event credit

UKIPT Revival

After a few years away, the UKIPT made its return in 2022, bringing with it a renewed sense of excitement and competition. One of the highlights from the tour was Will Kassouf’s High Roller victory. The re-launch of the leaderboard is expected to bring even more buzz to the series, offering players a chance to compete not only for tournament victories but also for the coveted POY title.

The first stop, the Irish Poker Open, promises to be an exciting start, with players vying for both tournament glory and valuable leaderboard points.
