Drama unfolds as Anna Khait, a former poker player, publicly criticizes the poker community, sparking an intense response from pros.

In a tweet that sent shockwaves through the poker world, Anna Khait expressed her disdain for professional players, calling them “self-righteous” and “hypocritical.” Khait, who gained fame on the reality TV show Survivor, took to Twitter to vent her frustration, claiming that she had once respected the poker community but no longer did after witnessing what she deemed to be the negative traits of many pro players.

“I used to have such respect for the poker community until I realized how much of a pathetic group of self-righteous, hypocritical, slanderer lefties they are. So easily triggered and hateful. (And most of them are complete losers). Pathetic,” Khait wrote. She added, “Grateful the Lord took me out!”

To clarify, she later posted that her remarks were directed at professional players rather than recreational players, whom she had no issues with and even praised for their conservative nature.

However, Khait’s tweet was met with immediate backlash from poker professionals. Ben Lamb, a well-known player, was quick to respond: “I doubt the lord would agree with your tweet here. Not very kind. Also, he didn’t take you out of poker. Your lifetime earnings of 12k took you out of poker.”

Lawyer and poker pro Mac VerStandig chimed in as well, saying: “Wait, what? Poker players are – almost to a comical degree – absurdly diverse. And as a community, we really only agree on two things: (1) tourists should be separated from their money; and (2) you’re starting to make Charlie Sheen’s ‘tiger blood’ faze look like a fit of sanity.”

Khait’s comments have ignited a heated debate, with poker pros defending the integrity and diversity of the community, while others question her motives.
