In a bold move to help revive tourism and poker activity in Las Vegas, Derek Stevens, owner of The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, is giving away 1,000 free flights to poker enthusiasts from 24 major U.S. cities.
Bringing Poker Players Back to the Strip
With Nevada preparing to reopen casinos after a prolonged COVID-19 lockdown, Stevens launched the “Keep America Flying” campaign to both stimulate air travel and revive Las Vegas tourism.
“As we begin to reopen our doors across the city, we are proud to help reinvigorate travel to Las Vegas while supporting airlines in America impacted by the COVID-19 crisis,” said Stevens. “While we’d love for visitors to stop by Downtown Las Vegas, we primarily want to get people back to Las Vegas to experience the attractions and amenities that make it one of the greatest places on Earth.”
More Than Just Flights
While many casinos are rolling out offers like free parking, waived resort fees, and deep discounts, Stevens’ campaign goes further — literally flying people in for free. It’s a strategic play to kick-start live poker and tourism after the economic slowdown caused by the pandemic.
