PokerStars has officially confirmed the return of one of its most beloved live poker destinations: the Summer Festival Malta, set to run from June 27th to July 2nd at the luxurious Intercontinental Hotel in St. Julians, a hotspot on the island known for its vibrant nightlife and Mediterranean charm.
The 2024 edition will once again feature a variety of events catering to players of different bankrolls. The Main Event maintains its familiar €1,100 buy-in, drawing both recreational players and seasoned grinders. For those looking to raise the stakes, a High Roller event with a €2,200 buy-in will also take place.
New to the schedule this year is “Live on Stars”, a two-day No Limit Hold’em tournament debuting at the festival. This fresh format comes with a €550 buy-in and is expected to attract a broad field. Starting March 27th, players can qualify for all events through online satellites, with full travel packages—including hotel accommodations and flights—up for grabs.
While the full schedule hasn’t been released yet, last year’s series featured 28 events, including satellite tournaments, with buy-ins ranging from €220 to €5,200. The 2023 festival drew players from across Europe and crowned Zlatin Penev of Bulgaria as the Main Event champion, earning €144,360 from a field of 815 entries and a €782,400 prize pool.
More than just poker, the Summer Festival Malta is known for its social atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and off-the-felt entertainment. This year’s edition promises the same mix of competition and celebration—with another Players’ Party already in the planning stages.
